“Feed your head” - film screening followed by a discussion on the topic of violence against queer people

The PERLEN have an exciting cooperation with ÜSTRA this year. ÜSTRA has launched a series of events for democracy, diversity and tolerance under the motto “Bunt fährt besser" (“Colorful travels better”).

As part of this series, we will be showing the German short film “Feed your Head” by Bernhard Strobel on September 30, 2024 at 6:15 pm in the foyer of the ÜSTRA headquarters (Am Hohen Ufer 6, 30159 Hanover), followed by a german-language discussion in a protected setting on the topic of “Violence against queer people”.

About the movie:
HECTOR (23) faces the challenge of protecting his little brother in a brutal world while dreaming of the ideal of a queer community. On a journey between reality and fantasy, he comes to terms with his own experiences of violence and tries to rediscover his relationship with his younger brother.

During the subsequent discussion, the “Keine Randnotiz” ( “No marginal note”) project will present us with a brief overview of queer-hostile incidents in Bremen and right-wing violence in Lower Saxony, before we talk together about best practice in dealing with queer-hostile attacks and assaults.
