Recipients of personal data

As part of our business activities, we work together with various external bodies. In some cases, it is also necessary to transfer personal data to these external bodies. We only pass on personal data to external bodies if this is necessary for the fulfillment of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. passing on data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the transfer in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO or if another legal basis permits the transfer of data. Your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO) if this has been requested; the consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you enter in the contact form and via “Submit films” will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). 6. Newsletter

Newsletter data

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on our website, we require your email address as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No additional data will be collected, or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively to send the requested information and do not disclose it to third parties.


There are two ways to subscribe to our newsletter: Via our website: You can subscribe using the newsletter registration form provided on our website. At the cinema: During our festival, you can subscribe using the newsletter registration forms available in the cinema foyer. Completed forms are placed in our designated feedback box.


The email addresses provided during registration are added to our electronic newsletter mailing list and used exclusively to send the requested information. Once the information has been transferred, the completed paper forms are securely destroyed in accordance with data protection regulations, unless they are required to comply with statutory record-keeping obligations.


The processing of data entered into the newsletter registration form is based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent to the storage of your data, including your email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time by notifying us in writing via email. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any data processing carried out prior to the withdrawal.


The newsletter is sent directly by our association through an email account. We do not use a separate newsletter marketing service. During the technical handling of email communications, personal data is processed by our email service provider.


Your email address will remain stored in our newsletter mailing list for as long as you wish to receive our newsletter. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future and unsubscribe from the newsletter. To do so, simply send an informal email to perlen-hannover[at]gmx.de.


We reserve the right to delete or block email addresses from our newsletter mailing list at our own discretion, based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected.


After unsubscribing, your email address will be deleted from the active newsletter mailing list, unless another legal basis justifies its continued storage.

Accessibility through UserWay

The website provides the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget, which is operated by a special accessibility server. The software enables perlenfilmfestival.de/en to improve conformity with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
